Prêmio TechMining for Global Good 2018 para Carlos Morel

TechMining for Global Good

The TechMining for Global Good award is intended to recognize steadfast TechMining-enabled efforts to advance decision-making processes and policy options on typically under-resourced issues of global importance. TechMining, short for “text-mining of science & technology information resources,” is a special form of “Big Data” analytics.  Using bibliometric and text-mining software (e.g., VantagePoint, TDA) as well as other analytical & visualization applications, TechMining analyses of Science, Technology & Innovation (ST&I) information resources result in actionable intelligence for technology management and/or policy development.
Carlos M. Morel, Director of the Center for Technological Development in Health (CDTS) and Senior Researcher, Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ), is the 2018 recipient of the TechMining for Global Good award.
Carlos has actively participated in creation of various worldwide programs to promote research and development in neglected diseases, employing robust empirical approaches to inform strategic planning and policy development. Examples of his work include:
